Hello AZNIGP Members-
Thank you to everyone who attended the 37th Annual Regional Conference and Vendor Expo held on October 22nd at the Phoenix Convention Center where all roads led us together to experience a remarkable event. I hope the event provided valuable opportunities to learn, connect, and support your professional goals. We broke records in both member and vendor attendance and the Phoenix Convention Center proved to be a great fit for our growing Chapter. From our energizing keynote speaker and excellent break-out session topics to the outstanding Vendor Expo, there was no doubt this was a Great Event!!
Special thanks to committee leaders Diana Landeros, Barbara Corella, Lori Noyes, and Susanna Hernandez, along with the talented committee members whose hard work made this event possible. Please watch for the event survey and share your feedback, as we would love to hear your opinions and ideas on how to make this event even better next year.
One exciting part of the conference is the announcement of our election results. Congratulations to Danielle Hartke with the State Procurement Office as the incoming Vice President and Takiya Greene with the City of Avondale as the incoming Treasurer. Diana Landeros with the Town of Queen Creek was confirmed as our 2027 President and Marisa Lucero with the Arizona Department of Child Safety will continue to serve as your Secretary. I want to send a special thank you to Bill Munch, our outgoing Immediate Past President, and Jesse Atoigue, our outgoing Treasurer for their dedication and insightful guidance that was so kindly shared with our Chapter. I know Bill and Jesse will continue to be guiding lights, as so many of our Past Executive Board members have become, through their sharing of wisdom and knowledge with our committees and leadership.
It is getting very close, but there is still time to register for the Young Professionals Early Ugly Sweater Social which is on November 4th at Culinary Dropout in Phoenix from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Please visit the
AZNIGP registration site to confirm availability and register. And remember - you don’t have to be young to participate. Members who are new or relatively new to the procurement profession are welcome to attend, network and just have some fun showing off that really ugly sweater that’s hidden somewhere in your closet.
Our next virtual Board of Directors’ meeting is on November 12th and everyone is welcome to attend and participate. We will discuss proposed bylaw changes and the transition to our 2027 Chapter leadership. We plan to hold a membership vote on the final proposed bylaw changes at the December 8th Chapter Training Meeting. If you have any questions or suggested changes, please join the November 12th Board Meeting using the following Teams link -

Our last Chapter Training Meeting for this year is the
December Transitional Board Meeting and Holiday Luncheon on December 8th at the Doubletree by Hilton Phoenix/Mesa, 1011
West Holmes Mesa, AZ 85210. Please visit our Chapter website and register for this special event. If you served on a committee this year, please plan on attending the luncheon so we can recognize your service with a committee certificate.
November is the month we celebrate and give thanks for all that we have, all that we share, and all that we plan to be. I am especially thankful for being given the chance to lead this Chapter and work with all of you in pursuit of our mission. It truly has been the highlight of my career and an experience that I will always treasure.
Something else I am very thankful for is the amazing reservoir of talented professionals that willingly volunteer and contribute to our Chapter. This passion for our profession, coupled with a deep understanding of our important role, is our Chapter’s secret power that fuels us and drives us forward. If you have not had a chance to lead a committee or be part of a committee, I encourage you to get involved in 2027. Your ideas, experience, and energy can help us continue providing exceptional programs and opportunities for our members.
As we close out the last few months of 2026, I can’t wait to see what our collective future holds as we begin planning for a truly awesome 2027.
Michael Greene, C.P.M., CPPO
2026 Chapter President
